Small Businesses Share Their Stories
Your business story starts with your great-grandfather never missing a day of work to be able to buy that run down store when he retired. Or maybe it starts with your mother doing some needlework for the neighbors that admired her dresses. Maybe it even began with you.
The point that I’m getting at is that Facebook has three million businesses that actively advertise on their platform, with over 70% coming from outside of the US. That being said, Facebook recognizes that each of these businesses have a unique business story and mission. Whether their expertise is in fashion, nutrition or tech – each business offers something special to their community that no one else does.
Behold, Your Business Story – an easy tool that allows businesses to create a video that shows what they are bringing to the world. Facebook wants to create an environment that businesses can help to empower other businesses and with a pool of three million, that’s a heck of a lot of positive energy to pass around.
Some of the business stories that have already been shared:
- Holzconnection, a German company that brings the traditional craft of cabinet making into the 21st century through their online store and Facebook Page.
- Cupcakin’ Bake Shop, which was once a home-based cupcake catering business, is now a full retail shop in Berkeley, California with 15 employees. Samples, please?
- Dirty Feet, an organization from Secunderabad, India that takes urban children on weekend trips to experience nature.
- Fernando Christoff, a Brazilian music producer who was inspiring by his passion of DJing to create a clothing line exclusively for people in the music industry.
