Today, Facebook announced in a private email to certified Facebook advertisers that the Facebook Blueprint Certification extends to 18 months. Previously, the certification only extended to 12. This extension is a harbinger of good news to Facebook advertisers who don’t want to retake the test and pay the $300 fee each year to renew their certifications.
Facebook Blueprint Certification, launched on August 2016, is a credential you gain after passing two of three Facebook Blueprint tests, Facebook Advertising Core Competencies (required), Facebook Certified Buying Professional, and Facebook Certified Planning Professional. The tests assess your Facebook advertising knowledge, from advertising basics to best practices. After you pass the test, Facebook will send you an electronic certification badge which you can attach to your website.
Contrary to what you might believe, Facebook’s Blueprint Certification tests are difficult to pass, even for professionals. For this reason, the 18-month extension is a welcome change, giving advertisers more time to study for the next certification renewal.
If you want to either renew your certification or take the test for the first time, you must review Facebook Blueprint, Facebook’s 50-moduled online course that guides you through the basics and complexities of managing Facebook ad campaigns. Then you must schedule an exam date with Pearson VUE.
Facebook recently extended the certification to 18 months. Perhaps in the future, Facebook will have another burst of generosity and extend the certification to a full 2 years.
