Come one, come all – The Facebook Awards is accepting submissions!
That’s right, The Facebook Awards. They were originally launched in 2012 as the Facebook Studio Awards to honor the most creative work on Facebook. Last year, they included Instagram into the contest too.
Last year, there were over 2,700 submissions from 160 countries. But as they say, go big or go home. This year, Facebook included more countries and added new categories.
They even created a special focus on small businesses. This makes total sense because there are over 2.5 million small businesses advertising on Facebook. Shout out to the companies successfully growing their business with creativity!
There are some other changes too. The Facebook Awards are going to hold four regional competitions: North America, Latin America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific. Each region will be hosted by their own Creative Shop leader: Rob Newlan (EMEA), Fergus O’hare (APAC), Rapha Vasconcellos (LATAM) and Eric Schnabel (NA). This will give advertisers from every market a chance for international recognition, as well as allowing them to be judged within their own cultural context. Then, the top winners from each region will compete against each other to determine the honorees.
Curious about those categories, though? Check them out:
- Best Use of Facebook Platforms: Awarded to the most creative, original and well-executed Facebook, Instagram and other Facebook campaign concepts that drove major results
- Innovation: Awarded to campaigns that engage audiences in relevant and meaningful ways that have never been done before on Facebook or Instagram. Wow, how’d you think of that one?!
- Facebook for Good: Awarded to campaigns for charitable or non-profit causes that creatively raise awareness and drive positive social change using Facebook or Instagram. Hm, Ice Bucket Challenge?
- Beyond Facebook / Integrated: Awarded to campaigns that creatively use Facebook or Instagram as part of a larger, overall media mix, including the use of print, TV, radio or other mediums (This one is for the real marketing wizards)
If you think your Facebook or Instagram campaign is the bomb and was created between February 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016, submit it here to the 2016 Facebook Awards.
