Last week, The Next Web discovered a screen sharing option now possible for the desktop version of Facebook Live. Previously, a third-party software was needed to perform a screen share during a live broadcast—but that’s no longer the case.[bctt tweet=”New #ScreenSharing option now available for @Facebook #Live. #LiveStream #GoogleChrome” username=””]
How It Works
According to 9to5Mac, you can access screen share by following the steps below.
1) Navigate to Facebook Live
2) Click the “Share Screen” button that is located by the camera options.
3) Make sure Facebook’s screen sharing browser extension is installed on Google Chrome. At this time, the extension is only available for Chrome.
4) Choose where on your screen you want to share. For example, you can share within a Chrome tab, an application, or window.
Businesses can use the new screen sharing functionality to give live demonstrations of products or work-in-progress projects to engage with consumers. Overall, it can create a more authentic and trusting experience associated with a business or brand.
